Swirls or layers of color that somehow make you feel something, that’s how I would describe Aura Art. The psychology of color is not a joke and each one comes with its own pack of emotions. Don’t get me wrong color is never a substitute for therapy but you can’t deny it does have an impact. Using oversized colorful canvases as an alternative to wallpaper and paint does just that and it’s perfect for a rental. This kind of artwork is what they’re calling aura art, gradient art, or even color cloud art. It’s popping up everywhere and it’s easy to see why. Gradient art is reminiscent of looking at a Rothko while squinting.
Abstract art seems juvenile to some but I love and appreciate how one piece can be interpreted in a thousand different ways by a group of people. What we see says a lot about who we are.
Style Tip: Frame it and Layer it over wallpaper for more impact; for a modern look go the simple route and use solid colored paper with a similar tone in the artwork. More of a maximalist…the busier the better with a patterned paper and contrast color in the artwork. Have you ever seen a Rothko IRL? Well, then you understand the best way to create an experience is to go big with your frame size. In this case, Bigger is always better!
