The past always seems to resurface in the present especially with design trends. The best part about a resurrected trend is it usually comes back better than the original, in unexpected colors and patterns. The mushroom lamp is no different, the original was known as the Murano and Panthella lamp, inspired by the mushroom – of course! Some of the most mundane or common objects have inspired some of the best work of artists and designers in the past.
Today the mushroom lamp comes in metal, mixed media and fun colors. The original was also offered in various color ways but the material was strictly acrylic. The unusual shape would be a great contrast to traditional wallpaper or a natural fit with bold and/or abstract wallpaper and modern furniture. They’re also great as two bedside tables or solo as an accent lamp on an entry table. Try a playful color for the kids or the kid at heart, this lamp will honestly fit anywhere and hold its own.
