Mid-century modern style is the most widely loved and known in decor. Everywhere I look I see mid-century pieces dressed in more modern fabrics and unexpected finishes and colors. MCM style is known for abstract and straightforward shapes, color blocking, and atomic or retro icons, and they all look great oversized. Rugs are the best opportunity to add a dramatic moment to a room. It covers so much of the space, so don’t miss this chance by choosing a rug with no personality. If you’re anything like me and you love more neutral spaces, adding a pop of color to the floor is a great move! If you’re looking for something simple and subtle or striking and colorful, this roundup is for you!

The Do’s & Don’ts of Rug Sizes – When deciding on the right size, go for a size that extends to at least the front feet of all of your furniture pieces to avoid awkward sizing. Avoid a rug that only sits under your coffee table. If you’re looking for some pattern but not too much try layering one larger rug underneath in a neutral tone and the smaller one on top in a more graphic style. Avoid a rug too big for a space, this only makes your space seem crowded and much smaller.
