Hey! My name is Chenise Elida Hinds and I’m an E-designer and Realtor living in the D.C. metro area.
Let’s rewind a little — I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and also did some growing up in the D.C. metro area. It was just my sister and I raised by two Caribbeans from Barbados. I started my career as a graphic designer for a major furniture & home decor company in Atlanta, GA. Always flirting with the idea of becoming an interior designer I decided to pursue interior design and moved back to NY. I worked briefly for various interior designers in NY, returned to the D.C. area to be closer to family, and started working as an e-designer, realtor & blogger.

Elida Eye is an interior design, lifestyle, travel, and real estate blog. I started Elida Eye as a place to share content that inspires others to curate their lives and homes.
I celebrate good design and the never-ending potential to make it even better. Inspiration can come from anywhere for me; set design from TV & Movies; shops in my favorite cities to lose track of time in; modern art and architecture in my backyard and abroad; and even the beauty and contrast of materials from brushed brass to lucite and honed marble, fabrics from brocade to velvets, and how they all play together in a space. Most of all, I celebrate our ability to create homes and spaces that are authentic to who we are and how we live!
