“There is no passion to be found in playing small — in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living. “ – Nelson Mandela
This is my WHOLE mood for 2020 and how I want to start this new decade. This year I’m focusing on self-development and making becoming the BEST version of myself a huge priority.
Ways we choose to stay small:
1. Playing Stupid. Pretending to be clueless and downplaying your knowledge because of fear of being called a know-it-all.
2. Ignoring Dreams. Not going after the dreams that lie dormant in our hearts all because of the fear of failure.
3. Running Scared. Running away from big opportunities and pretending you can’t crush them.
4. Burning Down Your Own House. Self-sabotaging ourselves to get ahead of the perceived failure ahead.
Ways to step into your BIG:
1. Edit Your Tribe. Hang out only with people that affirm and encourage your move into greatness. People tear down only what they perceive to be a threat to their existence.
2. Just Jump. Just take the plunge and do the thing that scares you the most, even if it doesn’t work out that was a lesson learned…then move on.
3. Put Your Light On The Table. Acknowledge your strengths and what you’re good at and stop downplaying or placing your light under a table for the comfort of others.
4. Stay Humble. No one likes an arrogant person who can’t wait to throw their achievements in other people’s faces and talk about how amazing they are….all the time.
